Part 7: The Responsibilities of The Call
In the name of God, Master, of the universe, Ruler of the earth.
Peace be unto you. The Call of the
Preacher is very important. The Call is important because so many Preachers are
ungodly and blinded by Satan. This article will bring up for review specific
responsibilities of those Called to the Ministry. Thus, we continue to use our
framework for evaluating the Preacher in "Theory and Practice."
As we listen to what the Preacher and church people say and do we see the phrase "Talk and Actions." Many False Prophets are great liars. However, some are so ignorant concerning the Word that they make foolish statements about scripture and confuse the lost and new Christians. Also, at many small country churches (also in many large cities) you have a semi-illiterate Pastors with a back up group of semi-illiterate Associate Pastors.
Therefore as we bring the responsibilities
of Preachers up for review we note that there is no excuse for a Preacher not
being a student of the Bible. The Bible is clear on the duties,
responsibilities and the credentials needed for those Called to preach. The
Bible is also clear on the faith of the person Called. God did not Call any
lazy people to the Ministry. Nor did He Call those that are unprepared, those
that cannot read and those that do not try to learn to read.
Meanwhile some that were Called have
gone astray. Thus the illiterate and the Preachers who have
attended accredited Seminaries have often gone astray. At this point we would
like to point out the shame of the various unaccredited Bible Schools. These
Schools for a fee serve countless so-called Preachers who often have not finished
For the record you do not have to be
a college graduate to Preach. The first credential and qualification is a Call
from God. Why do so many educated, and uneducated,
illiterate Preachers want to be called Rev. Dr.? Why do many so-called
Preachers want credentials but don't want to earn them? (However we are not
arguing that Preachers with college degrees are the only qualified Preachers.
One's educational background does not qualify one to Preach). For the record
many Preachers do not have the background to be admitted to accredited schools
of Theology. Meanwhile these so-called Preachers have looked over the scripture
that says a Called Preachers first credential resides in their belief and faith
in God. God did not Call any dumb Preachers to the pulpit. Although all
Preachers do not have the same skills, however they should all be on one accord
with God and the Word.
As we continue to note the
responsibilities of the Preacher we turn to the Old Testament and the Book of
Micah for guidance and direction. The Prophet Micah makes it clear that God
hates unkindness, idolatry, injustice and empty ritual. These actions of
un-Christian behavior are still evident today.
