THE POWER AND MIRACLE OF PRAYER
Psalms of Prayer & Praise
Part 71: Psalms 109: The Peace In Prayer From The Liars & Those That Slander
In the name of God Master, of the Universe, Ruler of the earth
Editors Note: Beloved we come with a good and sincere heart as noted in the Bible as we remember David. However we must strive daily each and every second, minute and time awake and while asleep to stay in the Spirit. Many come with a jealous heart thinking the devout the saved the righteous are envious of a success based on things of the world. The truly righteous are nonconformist and content with their Free Expression granted by Almighty God. Meanwhile most of those that live on the planet earth walk crawl and move as dogs and hogs to slop in the wrong direction.
We want not your tear stained pillows as you wallow in a subconscious nightmare because of your mis-deeds found in libel and things that are not Holy. They lied on the one and only King and today believe a king is noted in material wealth and being waited on. But John confessed to all that had a good mind to listen, revealing that the real King (The Suffering Servant) came to serve. The servants look not to man for anything. They also need no one to bow down to them as they have no throne. But they have Joy in the morning as the hungry are feed and the new born baby sees the Light of day. What is a King?
Peace be unto you. To the Church (the Church of Christ Jesus the Prophets and Apostles) and believing Christians everywhere. To those that believe in the Bible (the Spirit of God) as the supreme authority that governs all of humankind. In this we give thanks to God the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit that leads and guides us the straightway. We also come with no material motive or gain or profit from rendering the Truth of God. Those called to great service are given the greatest prosperity that exists by God and not man.
Beloved those that have come with opposition to Truth as noted by Almighty God often hide in the bushes behind weightless paper as the cowards do in ambush. They know nothing of principles, morals or simple human values. So as we break open this 109th Division of Psalms our beloved brother David sets us on the right course to understand once more than once that the lies and slander of the wicked is nothing new as there is nothing new under the sun.
Psalms 109:1-2 “Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;” (Also see Deuteronomy 10:21 for an additional cross reference especially regarding the fear and love for God).
David pleads with the Lord to help him regarding the cruel and wicked ways of his enemies. Meanwhile the word peace is used in the sense of silence. At Psalms 83 verse 1 we see a similar statement regarding a plea for the Lord to strike back at the enemies of God’s people. “Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.”
109: 2 “For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.”
David anticipated opposition and was prepared for it. However he was dismayed by the possible effect of the lies and deceitful words used against him. Mainly because most if not all came from his blind side in ambush and under the table.
Psalms 109: 3-4 “They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.” (Also revisit Psalms 35 and the 7th verse. Also return to Psalms 69 and verse 4).
David as a man of principles never denied any action that found him guilty. But, he complained here of being opposed and accused without cause. Is this still a tactic of those that seek to censure Truth during these New Testament times?
109: 4 “For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.” (Also return to Psalms 69 and verse 13).
This verse reminds us of the teaching of Christ at Matthew 5: 44. Often times you can lose a friend by showing them much kindness for example loaning them money. But David said he would pray for those that were ungrateful and showed no gratitude. So don’t plot treachery against those that seek to use you are exploit you for your material things and human resources. Those that keep a heart of God who stay in the Spirit in prayer can never be exploited.
Now look with us to Psalms 38: 20 “They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries: because I follow the thing that good is.”
The previous thought is continued as we move to verse 5.
Psalms 109: 5 “And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.” (See Matthew 5: 44 once more also return to Psalms 35 and verses 7 and 12 and Psalms 38 and verse 20).
The sentiment of ingratitude is a serious fault and is noted throughout the Bible. But this spirit is made even worse when the person that is shown kindness seeks to plot and do evil against the person that showed him great favor. In our experiences we have seen that when we have noted to some of the brethren certain Biblical Truths and the unforgotten Truth of the Black experience we have been labeled as an enemy and not a friend. Sadly beloved many twist and turn sideways in confusion and suffer from hate and a goat filled plate of malice. Also this is abnormal behavior. It is logical to accept kindness with a spirit of love and acceptance as compassion moves the righteous.
Psalms 109: 6-8 “Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.” (Also see Zechariah 3: 1 for a similar note).
Satan is our opponent. Therefore the writer here wishes that some human adversary should be on hand to oppose those that offered evil for good.
109: 7 “When he shall be judge, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.”
Can the prayers of some be an abomination? We also wish that the enemy is convicted when brought to trial. The phrase “let his prayer become sin,” is explained at Proverbs 28: 9. Can the unrighteous get a prayer through? Can you be unrighteous and be without faith and love for God?
109: 8 “Let his days be few; and let another take his office.”
The person thus described is not worthy of retaining his office. Thus any responsibility he has had should be removed. Who are the people that most need removal in the church today?
Psalms 109: 9-10 “Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.” (Also see Exodus 22: 24)
Simply death is wished upon this man who is the enemy of God.
109: 10 “Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.”
David here renders a harsh and what some would describe as a cruel verdict on those that were opposed to Truth and God’s people. What is to come of those that continue to seek harm to God’s people today? What is their fate? Is it written? We look to the Bible and these are the things we see.
