Psalms of Prayer & Praise

Part 49:  Psalms 75: God Is The Final Judge: The Righteous are Lifted Up and One Is Putteth Down

In the name of God Master, of the Universe, Ruler of the earth

Editors Note: There are many trials and often an on-going conflict with the ways of the world as many have lost the race but believe they stand at the finish line.

“There were once two strong men. They could both move quickly as they sprinted in the 100 yard dash. However John reminded them that the 100 yard dash was just a starter race. For the race for life is a great distance run. Meanwhile one man amassed an abundance of things related to man-made prosperity as he smiled at his great success. However John’s friend had few if any possessions that he called valuable. However he guarded his salvation and it amounted to a never ending number. One man fell down along the way as the race was long because he left the starting blocks weighted down with all his jewelry. However John’s friend rested by the cool still waters of a fresh water spring that never stopped running as it came from Heaven.”

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. To the Church (the Church of Christ Jesus the Prophets and Apostles) and believing Christians everywhere. To those that believe in the Bible (the Spirit of God) as the supreme authority that governs all of humankind. In this we give thanks to God the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit that leads and guides us the straightway.

This is a powerful Psalms whereby our Lord promises us that He will protect us from the hands of the wicked and evil that comes to challenge God’s people. So no matter what you are going through God is with you and will protect the righteous.  It is not possible for Satan or any of his lost souls to take us out of the hands of God.

At Psalms 75 we find 10 powerful verses. However we will refer to verses 7-10, but we suggest that you read and digest all 10 verses found here.

Psalms 75: 7: “But God is the judge: he putteth down one and setteth up another.”

God is in charge of the land and its people not man. Therefore it is He that can raise or lower the people that walk and crawl the planet earth.

Follow us over to Psalms 11 where we find additional scripture that reveals that God is always in charge and He will judge the good and the bad.

Psalms 11:6: “Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

It is written that the wicked and those that deny Christ will suffer in an eternal fire at the final judgment. Here we see in Psalms 11:6 once again that those that oppose God and His people will lose. No matter how much it looks like they have a victory on this side they will lose. They will be defeated as we live for Peace and Paradise at the final judgment and the strength on this side just to do what God would have us to do. Glory to God.

Now follow us to the Book of Daniel for another powerful message on this same theme. Praise the Lord. The Lord looks for our blessing Him in our Praise. Thus today as we look for our counted days to come to Praise God and Christ.

At Daniel 2 there are 49 verses. The first verses basically 1-13 notes Nebuchadnezzar concealing his dream. In verses 14-23 God reveals the dream. So at verse 21 is where we pick up and see a vital scriptural lesson that is directly related to our over-all subject and a cross reference to Psalms 17:7.

Daniel 2: 21: “And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.”

The words times and seasons are ingrained in the words an appointed occasion. This indicates that our God is in control of periods of time and arrangements that are fixed.  He controls the earth the universe all that is above and below. Meanwhile we find an example of God using his power to remove and install rulers in the Books of Samuel and Kings. Wisdom, knowledge and understanding are noted in the logic that God will favor those that have the good sense to use wisdom.  This is transformed to knowledge and understanding that is also derived from those that seek out wisdom as it comes from and is first seen in God.

Psalms 75: 8: “For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, and the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.”

Here we see a figurative use of wine and cup to note the different fates of the good and the bad. The good will be permitted to drink of the clear wine at the top. The dregs or what settles at the bottom of the cup will be what the wicked will get. Let it be written that no matter what man says or reports the wicked will lose in time. For your thought and mediation many that some believe are full of the victory of wealth and material prosperity are lost and broke. There is no victory nor is there any prosperity without Jesus. Say that again? There is no Victory without Jesus. What Victory? Life everlasting and Peace and Joy as you liveth in His service.  Therefore the love that Jesus renders will bring peace in the midst of any storm and in the middle of the Food Stamp Line.

Psalms 75: 9: “But I will declare for ever, I will sing praise to the God of Jacob.”

We (FreedomJournal Press) along with David at this verse regard the will of God as just as we serve a just God. Therefore David notes that he will sing praises to God. Will you do the same? We hope to praise God with all our breath for everlasting as we shout from the grave at our home going. (Also see Psalms 40: 10 and Job 21: 20)

Psalms 75: 10: All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.”

(Also see Psalms 89:17 and 148: 14)

With the help of God David here proposes to act against the wicked.  The word horns in this passage means power. God will also render this same power to all of His children that believe. We have help against any wicked force that we confront as we make this sojourn. This is Good News.
