Part 29:  God Will Hear The Prayers of the Godly (Psalms 4: 3)

In the name of God Master, of the Universe, Ruler of the earth

Editors Note: We bear witness as sure as we see the Wind in the Spirit and the help of the Sun who shines on the Son of God that there is no mystery in Truth. However there seems to be a great mystery among some as to the ways in which “one accord is reached.”

John said there is one interpretation however this does not disallow you to see something I did not see. However there is only one conclusion and reason for God sending the scriptures through his chosen vessels that are written. Meanwhile the world goes out to taint and confuse even those that truly ascribe to the Word.

Let not your righteous heart be troubled by those that seek the ways of contemporary old and ancient custom and tradition. Full Church Houses with scores of people as a great Sea does not mean God is in the House. The true to God and the Word will never be great celebrities on the great stage of Preachers and Church Buildings. We bear witness that your greatest blessing will come in the afterlife in Heaven.

Small devout congregations should grow to bring up other small devout congregations of less than three hundred no more than five hundred members. Would the Lord want to only be a number in the Church? The Church should never move to be a business where no doubt money will be changed and some will still come to overturn the tables.

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. To the Church (the Church of Christ Jesus the Prophets and Apostles) and believing Christians everywhere. To those that believe in the Bible (the Spirit of God) as the supreme authority that governs all of humankind. In this we give thanks to God the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit that leads and guides us the straightway.

Beloved it is good news that the God we serve will answer a prayer. We can see David just as the FreedomJournal fleeing persecution and staying with God. We bear witness that the Spirit moved us to write this series on “The Power and Miracle of Prayer.” One day we realized the great need of prayer in our daily lives. Although we prayed daily without ceasing we also needed to learn more about prayer. So as we come as an empty pitcher to the throne and Word of God we pray for our deliverance so that we can assist and help in the deliverance of someone else.

Meanwhile we relish the on-going blessings we receive each time we look to the World of God. We thank God for the inspiration to see what He would have us to see. Therefore we pray that we continue to look to God and not falter. Help us O’ Lord and we will be forever grateful.  We can put our trust and faith in God for He will listen when we call on Him.  At the 4th Division of Psalms David offers an evening prayer. There are 8 verses noted here. Our primary verse is verse 3, but we will begin with the first two verses and box in the 3rd with verse 4.

Psalms 4: 1-3: “Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.”

O Ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame: how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.”

4: 3: “But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself; the Lord will hear when I call unto him. (Also see Psalms 50:5)

Beloved righteousness is an integral part of one’s prayer life. David here notes “God of my righteousness.” He meant as we also mean that one lives a life of righteousness according  to the will of God. We have to be approved of God to maintain a righteous life. The Lord helped David when he was in distress. Was this due to his righteousness?

Meanwhile we see then and now that man runs after falsehoods. They were thus rebuked. The Lord also sanctions, commissions, ordains  and calls scribes and sages  to also stand up against the false teaching in the Church today. And as they meet opposition the Lord will protect them as He did David. Thus we come to get a blessing each time we open the Word as here we gain strength to endure not only for tomorrow but to the end.

Now turn to the 3rd and primary verse. The word sanctified is often confused and misunderstood.  Here the phrase “set apart” is noted as a definition of sanctified. Rest assured that  the Lord will never perform a miracle to sanctify a person. However when one turns from sin and accepts the Lord’s terms of pardon he or she is in a sanctified state. These people will have the assurance of having his prayers heard  according  to the will of God.

Before we conclude this discussion with our 4th verse we need to note several very prominent cross references to the major thought noted at our primary verse.  We will first go to II Timothy and then several powerful messages in Psalms.

II Timothy 2: 19: “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

Here we find the Apostle Paul writing to his beloved son Timothy regarding the diligent workers for the Lord. Paul notes in verse 18 that the faith of some men became tainted by false teaching.  We must have some foundation for our faith. This foundation is found in the Gospels. Beloved as we look out upon today’s landscape that we liveth we find many that are being lured and taken away from the Bible. Without this firm, consistent and confirmed foundation one is lost and will fall for anything. Surely that is the purpose of those that come with the various contemporary false teachings about prayer, money, giving, dress codes, casual in the Lord comes as you are not as your heart is but as the rags upon your back are and how the body is to be disposed of at death. They also cloud the minds of the once righteous as to almost anything they have previously learned about Bible Truth.

Meanwhile the unrighteous cannot take the foundation with them. For example those that wish to move from the Bible decry the Bible as full of errors. This is false there is nothing wrong with the Gospel or the Apostle Paul.  But those that stay with the Lord are cared for and these are the people that can get a prayer through.  The figurative use of the word seal is used here. This means that those that stay loyal to God are registered in obedience. But to keep such a seal one must stay separated from iniquity.  This must come on your own. We are not to expect the Lord to perform a special miracle to free us from sin. Now go back with us to Psalms for several cross references found there.

Psalms 6: 8-9: “Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping.”

“The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.”

Here we see David offering a prayer for God’s mercy. In times of trouble God is able and will rescue us. God had previously answered the prayer of David and gave him added courage to oppose his enemies. Therefore he bids them to depart from him. Now do you see why the Spirit inspired us to write this series? We need all the inspiration and courage we can muster as we follow in the footsteps of David as our sojourn is filled with the attempted destruction of the FreedomJournal by the enemies of God and God’s people.

David calls out terms of great respect in the 9th verse. One must be fervent in prayer thus we see the word supplication that should always be a part of our prayer.

Psalms 17: 6: “I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.”

In this prayer of David he pleads for justice in the face of false accusations and persecution. As Saul continues his persecution David maintains his faith in God. We also come once more than once as did David trusting in the Lord in the face of those that wish to deny us equal access to the Internet for our On-Line Journal (FreedomJournal Press). However we are so blessed as the trail blazers have paved the way and forewarned us of the impending attempt denial of reality that God is in control. So as David keeps his faith he prayed and asked the Lord to hear his prayer.

Psalms 31: 23: “O love the Lord, all ye his saints, for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.”

David here chooses to be of good courage. Thus in times of great stress one must have a firm and sincere commitment in the Lord in order to receive his blessings in prayer and otherwise. You must love the Lord to receive his blessings. Now for our final verse taken from our primary scripture at Psalms 4.

Psalms 4: 4: “Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

When you have great respect which is also described as awe for God you fear to do wrong. Those  of righteousness will not do as the selfish do. The lost come plotting and looking to devour their fellowman. However the righteous will mediate on goodness. They will then be able to find peace in communing with God. This peace comes to those that serve God.
