REVELATIONS IN THOUGHT FROM REVELATION
PART 2: GOD REMEMBERS WHO HAS DISTURBED THE EARTH AND HIS PEOPLE (REVELATION 7: 1-3)
In the name of God, Master of the Universe, Ruler of the earth
Editors Note: Beloved as we speak, see and feel the Spirit there is nothing that God does not see. Meanwhile many lost souls exist in confusion not realizing that God created this environment and the world in which we liveth. They see not and know not that the Lord is Supreme and He will remember all things. However repentance turns God’s mind to mercy but who will repent when they know not.
Man is the caretaker of the environment owned by God. He will thus protect the elements as He protects us as we pray and embrace Jesus in our hearts moving the mind. They know not what to do in times of conquest. But the righteous know for certain that all things in the life that we liveth are not permitted. Many will also come to the cross-roads but only the righteous will know what road to take or what to search for. Life everlasting and death with no end is the promise so are the resources to live this time as my time your time ain’t long.
Peace be unto you. As we continue our discussion of Revelation we now look at the 7th Division. At Revelation Chapter 6, Six Seals are opened. John the Revelator has a vision throughout this Chapter. At Revelation Chapter 6: 9-11 there is an altar scene. We remind you that all through Revelation we see various symbols. Generally the 6th Chapter reveals the wrath of God that will come upon the land due to the persecution of Christians. Are many of us persecuted by the Oil on the loose? How many (man, fish, the birds, the water, flowers of the sea) will be persecuted in the future? When will the Oil Spill be forgotten by the people of the Gulf and beyond?
Beloved we come not to render a message of chastisement toward anyone. However what does the Bible render here as we pursue our primary scripture lesson taken from Revelation 7: 1-3. Many things continue to unfold as we liveth. What we see today may become brighter on tomorrow. We also may be able to see things pass tomorrow as we walk in the Spirit. But rest assured no one walks in the same Spirit path as John. Peace be unto you.
So what can trouble the Great Sea? Is there anything found in our primary text that will help us understand the great disaster taking place in the Gulf? Will we also find some comfort in better understanding the will of God as we look toward the Four Winds?
Revelation 7: 1 “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.”
The altar scene noted in the vision in a symbolic sense at the previous chapter was noted because the altar was the center of the Jewish worship service. The sacrifice of animals was thus noted or compared to the sacrifice of the Christians as the blood of the lambs. John and the various Christians that had been slain were martyrs.
Now the vision of John opens to include the confusion that came upon many men in high places. Those that bring aught against His people are mired in confusion. There are four corners of the world thus there were four angels. As they held the four winds we see a symbolic gesture of the blowing of the wrath of God over the realm of the persecutors. But this wind would be released whenever God so ordered.
At Jeremiah 49: 36 and at Zechariah 6: 5 we see the mention of the four winds. Realizing the essence of the four winds is important however we look to see what God says more about the Great Sea. We also look to see what He says about the elect. At Matthew 24: 31 we see the following:
“And he shall send his angles with a great sound of a trumpet and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
There are several places where we see the mention of a trumpet when Jesus comes (I Corinthians 15: 52 and I Thessalonians 4: 16). John also heard a loud noise at Revelation 6: 1 but it was like thunder and it was a powerful voice. Is the Supreme Power of God heard in the thunder? What is the Light of the Lightning that streaks across the great sky? When it strikes what are we supposed to see?
It is written that the second coming of Christ will come at the time of the end of this world. (Remember brethren in the Lord there is no end of time). Here we see in our verse up for review (Matthew 24: 31) that the coming of Christ is associated with the work of the angels to gather the elect of Christ. Also at Matthew 13: 39 we are told that the angels will do this at the end of the world. Will those that disturb the earth and its people be in the number of the elect?
Turn with us to another visionary and Daniel 7: 2 “Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.”
The Book of Revelation is a book of Prophecy. Prophecy of things to come. But how is Prophecy understood? Prophecies are often noted in symbols. The interpretation usually consists in determining what the symbols stand for. This is done mostly by certain historical facts and the fulfillment of a prophecy.
Again we see the mention of the four winds this time by Daniel. This is the whole earth because of the four regions or directions of the compass. To strove is to push forth or cause movement among the multitudes which is noted as the great sea. So sea is noted by Daniel to mean the people of the civilized world that were to become subjects of this empire (Babylonian Empire). The people noted as the great sea are stirred up, then what happens? Yes, when the literal sea is stirred up what happens?
