(What Does The Bible Teach About Preachers?)

Part 95: Paul Through God and Christ Teaches About False Apostles

(II Corinthians 11).

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. Our prayer is for peace upon all the brethren. Thus we thank God our Father and His Son our Savior Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Paul teaches about the false Apostles however who warns about these people today?

In the name of God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth

Beloved Paul as he teaches the people of Corinth (for the record Corinth was located in what is now Greece and ancient Achaia) about false Apostles.

He feared that the false teachers would preach the deceptive theories of the Greek philosophers stealing the hearts and minds of the people from the Gospel of Christ.

Beloved just what re the deceptive techniques of the false teachers today? Have the conspired to deceive the people with many false claims to salvation through a prosperity doctrine of sowing seeds of money to them? But just how are people that claim to know God and Christ fooled by those that seek to exploit them? Those that see man and not God are taken from Christ. To be Christ-like Christ must be first and not man.

II Corinthians 11: 4: “For if he that comet preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” (9 See Romans 8: 15).

At this place Paul reveals to the people at Corinth “I know that you have been under false teaching. So you listened to them so why can’t you listen to me. Paul later reveals why they should listen to him but before we proceed further with our primary scripture we refer to Galatians 1.

In the first Chapter of Galatians verses 6-10 we find Paul teaching that there is no other Gospel but the Gospel of Christ Jesus. For your thought and mediation we advise you to read with a sincere heart all 23 verses found here to get a better understanding of many things regarding the merits of the Gospel.

Galatians 1: 6-10: “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:”

“Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.”

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”

“As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye received, let him be accursed.”

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”

Paul had been called thus the people had been called by God to receive the grace and favor of Christ through Paul’s preaching. But many though the Law of Moses was still of importance. Thus the Judaizers (Law of Moses) offered another Gospel and this was false.

To be accursed means to be separated from God’s favor and delivered to destruction. Thus preaching a false doctrine is one of the worst sins a man could be guilty of.

In verse 10 Paul denies that he is trying to please men with his preaching. The basic reasoning here is that he could not be a servant of Christ while preaching in a way to win favor of man. He was thus resolved to be true to God even though he would lose the friendship of the whole world. (See Romans 3: 4).

Brethren the FreedomJournal does not come to boast nor stand in Paul’s shoes. However we declare as we bear witness to our record that “You (Preachers) will have few friends in the ministry, in your family, among your neighbors and so-called friends when you stand on the Truth of the Bible and lift up Christ and not man.”

Thus it is written that those that stand for God and Christ will be shunned by the world. However Christ who we love and follow will meet us at the Day of Judgment with a good report of life for everlasting and eternal bliss. Thus we play to stay with our Savior because man cannot save us and has no power.
