(What Does The Bible Teach About Preachers?)

Part 53: It Is Profane To Bring False Teaching Into God’s House (Jeremiah 23:11)

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you Beloved there is power in your prayer cried out loud. To Almighty God who compels the Holy Trinity we give thanks. Our pray is for all of humankind to be saved and for faith and patience as we go this way.

Father thank you also for your healing power that is given to all that accept the essence of spiritual healing that come with faith and obedience.

Peace and Love, Carl A. Patton a willing and humble slave of Almighty God writing for the FreedomJournal 12 September 2006 in the year of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

In the name of God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth

Beloved we are weary in our acknowledgement of the many false teaches that bring shame to God’s house. Some come willingly with a false report. Others are not aware of their responsibility to know.

Jeremiah 23:11: “For both prophet and priest are profane; ye, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the Lord.” (We also refer you t Jeremiah 6:13, 7:9-10 and 8:10).

As noted previously the Prophet and Priest were the main religious leaders during the time the Prophet wrote in the Old Testament. However as we extend his message to the day we now live we note that the Priest are now the Pastors/Preachers/Ministers. Here the parallels are clear as these crimes continue.

The crimes are the on-going false teaching and their unfaithful behavior. The word profane is used at this place to mean making a common or temporal use of sacred thing as these leader ser doing. These things were done in the Lord’s house.

A contemporary example of the violation of this scripture is noted in the alleged healing services and the claim to certain spiritual gifts among the Preachers and church leaders. We will now be blessed by some powerful scripture taken from the Prophet Zephaniah. Our primary scripture is Zephaniah 3:4, however we will begin with verse 1 and once again we see “Woe.”

Zephaniah 3: 1: “Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!

Zephaniah 3: 4: “Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary; they have done violence to the law.

The Priests and Prophets of the Old Testament just like the Preachers today are required to act in a responsible manner. However “light and treacherous,” means they were frivolous and unreliable. Those with this unconcerned attitude would not be serious regarding dangers facing the nation. In like manner Preachers today are blind to allowing almost all aspects of the world into the church.

Meanwhile the Prophet Zephaniah records that the Priests went about the sacred services in a common profane manner. They also used the Law to suit their purposes and violated it whenever it interfered with their plots against the people.

Brethren it is for sure this kind of behavior still exists. We see many Preachers taking part of the Law often fixing it to fit a certain situation. As you follow them you will then disregard the Law that does not serve the self interest of the Preacher.
