THE PREACHER/MINISTER/PASTOR

(What Does The Bible Teach About Pastors?)

Part 2: Who Is The Preacher?

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. The world of literacy rests on those that toil in time to study. However spiritual literacy comes to all that have breath that will embrace the love of God. Who then are those that claim a calling that are spiritually illiterate?

Peace and Love, Carl Patton a willing slave of Almighty God writing for the FreedomJournal 31 March 2006 in the year of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

In the name of God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth.

The Preacher is one who heralds or proclaims the word of God. This is an old way of presenting messages from God to man and is old as the human family. For in II Peter 2: 5 Noah is referred as a “preacher of righteousness.”

Meanwhile the Temple, Synagogue and Church have been the major place (s) where the preaching profession has been practiced. Thus preaching has been the main channel through which God has sent His messages.

Brethren has the role of the preacher changed with the completion of the Bible? What is left to the Apostles of the New Testament and what is the responsibility of the Preachers today? The word stands but the gifts cease. What does this statement mean?

There are other professions that also relate to the role of Preacher/Pastor. For example the Priest. The Priest was one who offered sacrifices or presided over things relating to God.  Prior to the Mosaic system the father was the Priest over his family.

In Exodus 28 we see that when the Mosaic system came a particular order was appointed to be the Priesthood. Therefore the order of Aaron were Priests except those that did not meet the requirements of the Mosaic Law.

Why did the Priesthood become corrupt? Why did the office of Priest become a means to amass wealth and political power why did Malachi mainly talk (write) to the Priesthood and not the people? Why do most Preachers lie on Malachi and say he is talking to the people? Did the Prophet Malachi talk first to the Priest and then the people are generally all that heard his voice?
