(What Does The Bible Teach About Preachers?)
Part 15:† Is Money The Greatest Reward For The Preacher
Peace be unto you.† Brethren so sad are the days when a host of false Prophets claiming to be Godís Preachers come calling His name with a priority for getting paid. Will the people follow Godís word? Will they follow the popular Hell bound Preachers? Just what does the Word say?

The Prophet Micah came with a clear warning to the church leaders of his day. However the sins of corrupt money hungry Preachers have escalated to the point where many wonder where to find a Godly Preacher?
Our primary verse is taken form Micah 3: 11. However we suggest that you read the entire chapter. Also read and digest Jeremiah Chapter 7 especially verses 8-12.
Micah 3: 11. The Heads thereof judge for reward, and the Priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, Is not the Lord among us? None evil can come upon us.Ē (Also see Isaiah 48: 2 and Micah 7: 3).
Brethren we are grateful to God for giving us the Bible as our guide to Truth. Therefore there is peace in sadness as we relish in being forewarned by God regarding the mad rush for money and material things among the church leaders.
Micah 3: 11 has stark parallels with Jeremiah 5: 31 however here the prophet Micah reveals the motive for the corrupt conduct of the leaders. The Apostle Paul teaches in 1 Timothy 6: 10 that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. The Preachers that pursue this evil also claim to speak for God. They even pretend that the Lord will bless them in their obvious evil pursuits.
For the record and the sign post. During the Civil Rights era throughout the south, there was a strategy that had its origin in the tragic institution of American slavery and the plantation. This strategy involved paying bribes to various people in the Black community to inform (Snitch) the city fathers about Civil Rights activity. In most cases the most prominent Black Preachers were solicited for these crimes. For their services as informants they received Judas blood money.
Meanwhile those that Preach for money as the priority of their ministry do a disservice to God. Nor should Preachers allow affluent members to control the church through bribes called tithes.
We will continue with several companion scripture lessons taken from Jeremiah 7: 8-12.
