(What Does The Bible Teach About Preachers?)

Part 104: Old To Death New To Life Everlasting (II Corinthians 3: 8-)

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. We thank our Father God which art in Heaven and to His Son our Savior Christ Jesus and to the divine presence of the Holy Spirit.

The ways of the world are wicked as many sit at the king’s table and care not for those thrown the crumbs.

Peace and Love, Carl A. Patton a willing servant of Almighty God in service to Christ Jesus writing for the Freedom Journal May 4, 2007.

In the name of God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth

Brethren the Bible teaches that the Gospel of Christ is superior to the law and replaced it. However many false and ignorant teachers then and now still hold onto aspects of the law. For example Christ Jesus has replaced the priesthood that existed under the Old Law. When you pay homage to a non-existent priesthood you deny Christ. Have mercy Lord.

II Corinthians 3: 8: “How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?”

The first covenant although written on stone and now done away with was also glorious. However the second was the ministration of the Spirit and is more glorious and are glorious to a greater degree. Follow us now over to Galatians

Galatians 3: 5: “He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”

The miracles of the Gospel were evident among the Brethren. Thus the Galatian Brethren knew that when they were led to Christ and an Apostle laid hands on them they were given gifts. They also knew that they had never received these gifts through the law that had been in existence for centuries. They knew it was through the hearing of faith.

Meanwhile we look through the telescope to the time in which we now live. We see recorded in the Bible that these gifts ended with the passing of the Apostles and the completion of the New Testament. However we still recognize that we now live under the New Covenant that was recorded in the Bible to replace the Old, which was to death while the New, is to life everlasting. Thus we do not need Apostles performing miracles through Spiritual Gifts, as we know that was a measure God allowed during a particular time. Follow us now to the next verse in our primary scripture for more understanding of our major topic.

II Corinthians 3: 9: “For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.”

Brethren just what is the ministration of condemnation? See Romans 8: 2 “sin and death.” Meanwhile we see the ministration of righteousness in the New Covenant and the Gospel because in it is revealed “the righteousness of God by faith.” Follow us now to the Book of Romans as Paul reveals much more on this subject.

Romans 1: 17: “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith.”

Righteousness means a system of life that will produce a state of righteousness acceptable to God. This system is revealed in the Gospel not in the law of works in the Mosaic system. This system is revealed by means of faith in Jesus and not by the works of the law. The just shall live by faith in Christ and not by works of the law. The Judaizers lived by the law.

Today the false Teachers/Preachers etc. continue this practice. Thus they take part of the Gospel and mix it with the law. This is a perversion but the ultimate act of disobedience is the denial of Christ. Let it be written when you continue the practice of giving (sacrificial offerings) that Christ came to remove you deny your Savior. That is a big no-no. Turn over to the 3rd Chapter for another thought.

Romans 3: 21: “But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets.”

Our primary verse is 21 however we suggest that you read and digest all of the verses here especially 19-31. All Jews would be made guilty and subject to judgment under the law. Verse 2 reveals that all sinners were obligated under the law. There would be no knowledge of sin had it not been for the law. There was an expressed duty to comply with the law.

Meanwhile in our primary verse (21) we see that the Old Testament writers noted the righteousness of God. Yet the Judaizers thought the Gospel was not enough. Do the false teachers today think the same way? Well maybe so. But some believe that the sole motivation of the throwback to the law today is money as the Prosperity Preachers seek to corrupt the Gospel.
