WHAT IS A KING?
(THE ILLUSION OF POWER)
PART 2: DAVID’S LINEAGE A SERVANT KING (II SAMUEL 7: 1-29)
In the name of God, Master of the Universe, Ruler of the earth
Editors Note: Sad are the days that the lost goeth to the killing floor with the hogs as the pigs will have to wait. Even more dreadful is the time lost serving a master that will only last a temporal season. The king that the wayward heart motivated by the mind served died as it never had life.
However, Jesus got up from the grave to die no more as this is written. Therefore there is no confusion by the saints as to their service. A servant/slave to God and Christ is a good and righteous thing. To Brown and Black nose to man is a Foolish thing.
Peace be unto you. Beloved as I rely on the Spirit once more than once I endeavor to break open yet another message already written. But is it heard? No one has a Divine ancestry except Jesus. Let me say that again but yet another way. God has only one Son. Also for the record Jesus is not, cannot be God He is the Son of God. Therefore there are no gods noted in the flesh among man. Who did Jesus pray to? To God the Father who will hear and answer a prayer. I hear the word of an old Gospel “When I woke up this morning I had no doubt.” Glory to God, Glory Hallelujah.
Those that profess to be gods are very confused are involved in a ways and means to defraud and convict the people to serve someone or something that will conflict with their sojourn to Peace and Paradise. I hope not to include any road blocks along my way to the Kingdom. Therefore the roadblocks that man tries to build along my way will only be stepping stones allowing me a closer look at Jesus.
Meanwhile have all kings in the flesh come as servants? Did David set the precedent for servant kings? Most kings we have seen seem to want to be served. Servants are thus those that wait on them. Is a king descended and handed a throne by birthright? Is a king elected by and for the people? Kings are not elected they are given power and control and the rule of the national treasury by their blood-line.
David carried the blood that also became the righteous blood of Jesus. However David was one such king that helped pave the way for the real King. David was glad about it. How about you? Are you glad to serve the King? Yes serve the King as the King serves you.
At II Samuel 7 verses 1-29 the entire chapter is very important to read and mediate over to understand the linage of David as a servant king. But we will only record for our discussion the last three verses. Follow us there and we trust that you will receive yet another blessing. Glory to God. Somebody please shout Hallelujah and give the victory to God.
II Samuel 7: 27 “For thou, O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee and house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.”
7: 28 “And now, O Lord God, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised the goodness unto thy servant:”
These were the days and times that various rival gods crawled upon the land. Therefore it was significant that the people of Israel were ruled by the one and only true God. This was the God that David wished to build his house. The promise of God to build a house for David encouraged him to offer the prayer noted at verse 27.
For additional reading and study for verse 28 see Exodus 34: 5-6. At verses 5-9 the writer inspired by God notes “The Nature of God is Revealed.” When the Lord came down and appeared to Moses it means that an angel of the Lord came as no one can see God. Therefore in all of the instances whereby the Law was given it was through the agency of an angel acting for God.
Beloved as you cross reference verse 28 of II Samuel 7 keep in mind the word servant. Now go with us over the New Testament and the Book of John. Christ prays for His Disciples at verses 6-19. Look now with us at verse 17.
John 17: 17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
The Disciples (Apostles) were servants. Thus Jesus asked that they be sanctified in truth. So do those that are servants need to know God and His word in order to work for the Lord? What is a suffering servant? Do you have to go through something to serve the Lord? To serve the Lord does this mean to also serve the people?
Look now at our last primary verse taken from II Samuel 7.
II Samuel 7: 29 “Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord God, hast spoken it; and with thy blessing let the house of the servant be blessed for ever.” (Also for an additional reference see Numbers 6: 24-26).
As we continue to take hold of the word servant and its basic meaning we see that David was not concerned about himself only. He was more concerned and thoughtful of his people. These people at that time composed the nation of the Lord. We are all accepted into the fold today Jews and Gentiles if we accept Christ. But the servant concept is still evident although many come to practice the world outlook on king and forget about Jesus as the King of Kings.
