Part 19: The Spirit of Truth Is Christ Jesus (Romans 8:9)

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. Is there one among us that does not want to be healed? Thanks to Almighty God our Father and to Christ Jesus our Savior that through Christ God has blessed us with the Holy Spirit.

“There were once two men and a woman. One man was sick and sought medical help to heal his wounds and afflicted body. He followed all the medical advice he received. His physical body to most seemed healed however his inner self was troubled.

Then there was the man and the woman. They were joined together as the woman came to help the man. They both fell sick of many ailments. They first conferred with God who they talked with daily. They also followed most of the medical advice of a trained, qualified and sincere physician. However they always placed God as the major surgeon and their senior advisor. They also were healed physically. But they also received healing on the inside.

John reading from scripture declared this is Spiritual Healing. On their knees daily they gave thanks together.”

Brethren although all men/women want to be healed many do not know healing comes with responsibility. Physical healing is a matter of time in most cases; however Spiritual Healing comes by faith, patience and knowledge of the Word.

Romans 8: 9: “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his”. (Also see Galatians 4: 16; Philippians 1: 19; and I Peter 1: 11).

Our salvation and eventual Spiritual Healing comes by embracing the Spirit of Christ. Thus “Christ be in you” is realized.

I Corinthians 3: 16: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you”?

The phrase “ye are the temple of God” in this scripture means the congregation. Paul had built and laid a foundation among these people by preaching the Gospel of Christ Jesus. The Church is the Spiritual building in which the Holy Spirit dwells. We see this same thought at Ephesians 2: 22.

Therefore Brethren do we need to pray for the Holy Spirit to come down in the church in prayer? Is the Spirit already there? How can we get this Holy Spirit to work miracles in us and comfort us? Is a sincere heart of Christ the answer?

John 14: 17, 18, And 23: “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him; but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you”.

“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you”.

“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words; and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him”.

The Spirit would abide with the Apostles forever. The Spirit would also abide in connection with their work to the end of the Christian age. (See Matthew 28: 20). The Great Commission under the Apostles involved the rendering of miracles and speaking the various foreign languages of the world. This aspect (Spiritual Gifts, speaking in tongues, healing etc.) of the Great Commission has ended. It ended with the passing of the Apostles and the completion of the New Testament.

It is called the Spirit of Truth because it was to guide the Apostles into all Truth. “Whom the world cannot receive” –none but the Apostles were to receive the Holy Spirit in baptismal measure except the household of Cornelius which was temporary. Thus no one was promised it until they came from the world to God. (See Galatians 4: 6 and Acts 5: 32). “Seeing him not: the world does not have the spiritual eyes to see God. These are the same eyes needed for Spiritual Healing.

In verse 18 Jesus pledges “I will come unto you”. He will thus send His representative the Holy Spirit as a comforter and a measure of help to guide His children to Truth. And Spiritual Healing.

As Jesus asked the disciple to keep his words He notes that this is possible if you love Him. The love of Christ Brethren is the way to Spiritual Healing. Those that love man, woman, cars and material things before Christ are lost. Who do you love?

P.S Brethren thanks be to Almighty God. Keep on in Faith and in Prayer your life will change. In this you will be able to see the Light. There is Healing in the Light. The Light is also always On. I am grateful to those that read these humble words. In them I have been blessed we trust that you have received a blessing also.
