Part 18: Only Christ Can Save Us Not The Law (Romans 8: 3)

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. We are grateful Father for there are some among us that truly with sincere hearts love Jesus and thrive on the Holy Spirit.

“We cannot see our blessings without seeing God.”

In the name of God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth

Brethren Jesus Christ came and died for the sins of humankind thus paving the way for our salvation. However one is not saved from sin automatically. Our responsibilities are noted in the Bible. But no one can read the Bible for you. You have to take some time to read and study the Bible for yourself. As an aside but also of great importance. The great emphasis on giving money (for example the various TV Ministries) is an insult to God. Brethren this time should be used to teach the Gospel realizing that God wants your heart. When your heart is of God you will give of time and resources.

“Let it be written that many flock to give. Showing great pronouncements as to how much they gave. However there is no WORD among them”.

Romans 8:3: “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak in the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful selfish and or sin, condemned sin in the flesh”. (Also see Acts 13:39; II Corinthians 5: 21: Philippians 2:7 and Hebrews 2: 14, 4: 15).

All of the related scriptures noted after verse 3 reveal that Jesus came in the flesh in the likeness of man to save the world. As He took on the flesh of man He also became tempted by the carnal things of the world. However Jesus never bowed to carnal pleasures or sin.

Meanwhile as we refer back to verse 3, the Law was not able or adapted to meet the needs of the flesh and the weakness of man. As Jesus came in the body of sinful man He condemned sin by living free from sin and offering His body as a living sacrifice. Thus only Christ can save us not the Law.

Romans 8: 4: “That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”. (See Galatians 5: 16, 25)

“Righteousness of the law was not something that was unattainable although required. One was not able to obtain it due to the weakness of the flesh.

Romans 8: 5-8: “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh: but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit”.

“For to be carnally minded is death: but to be spiritually minded is life and peace”.

“Because that carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be”.

“So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God”. (Also see Galatians 5: 19-22, Galatians 6: 8; Romans 8: 5-6).

As we look at verse 5 Paul in the preceding Chapter in a bracket of scriptures 15-21 reveals the following: The canal tendencies of man were responsible for difficulties with the Law of Moses. This law was based on the needs of man on his own merits. However this made it necessary to bring on the Spiritual law of Christ.

There is an outer man of the flesh and an inner man of the Spirit. Often they come in conflict with each other. However whichever is in the lead at any given time will determine whether the person is a servant of Christ or Satan.

The carnal mind reveals a person that yearns for fleshly pleasure. Meanwhile we must strive to be in the Spirit and accepting Christ is the only way to be saved.
