Part 17: The Gospel Is The Law of The Spirit (Romans 8:2)

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. Grace is a measure of Godliness. The law paved the way for the Gospel of Christ. Thus Father God we are grateful for with the Gospel came our Savior Christ Jesus and soon we were blessed with the Holy Spirit.

“Meanwhile many people that call on the Lord come mixing and entangling the Law with the Gospel of Christ. Here through brain-washing and a look to the world they come still playing out rituals in giving clinging to a theory of sacrificial offerings that were grain crops and livestock for a now defunct Priesthood.”

In the name of God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth

As a preface to our primary scripture taken from Romans 8: 2 we refer you to the previous Chapter and verses 5-6.

At Romans 7: 5-6 we find a very important bracket of scriptures that logically notes a break between the Law of Moses and the Gospel of Christ. For the record while Christ walked the earth we were still under the Law. However when He made His transition (ascension) to be with the Father the New Law came upon the earth.

The major difference between the Law of Moses and the Law of Christ is that the Law of Moses is ritualistic. Also the penalty for violation of this Law was usually physical death. The tithing ritual was a part of this law. Therefore we are no longer bound to tithe to a priesthood that Jesus has replaced. Nor are we commanded to make sacrificial burnt offering for our sins.

Meanwhile the law of Christ (the Gospel) has a spiritual character. This spiritual law provides for weakness of the human flesh through the grace of God. Furthermore you obtain this spiritual character, mind and Christ-like posture through your heart and not your works.

Romans 8: 2: “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death”.

The “Law of the Spirit” is the Gospel. This Gospel (Law of the Spirit) will guide one to a spiritual life in this world. This same Gospel (Law of the Spirit) will also prepare the believer for eternal life and render Spiritual Healing. The freedom from sin and death is realized in those that accept the Gospel realizing that the Old Law has passed with the coming of Christ and the Gospel.

II Corinthians 3: 6: “Who also made us able ministers of the New Testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life”.

This verse further reveals that the new agreement (New Law) with God comes from the Holy Spirit and not a written law. This New law is an improvement over the Old Law. While the Old Law was as matter of sin and death the New Law through the Spirit brings life.

Galatians 2: 19: “For I through the law and dead to the law, that I might live unto God”.

Ingrained in the Law was a prediction that it would end. It is also revealed that a prophet would come from the Jews to replace this law. Brethren why do so many people deny Christ by trying to create a unique measure of the law and apply it to giving? (Also see Deuteronomy 18: 18-20)

Therefore when one accepts Christ he was regarded dead to the law that he might live unto God through Christ.

For a final word on this thought turn over to the 5th Chapter of Galatians.

Galatians 5: 1: “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage”.

Paul teaches here that it is foolish to go back to the law. Because Christ has given us liberty and freedom under the law of the Spirit we can remove the yoke of bondage. Brethren beware that you don’t deny Christ and tamper with your salvation as you look to pick out measures of the Old Law during these times. Look to the Spirit and not to man.
