Greetings Brethren:

As the ignorant and the Lost wallow in sin and unrighteousness they also place stumbling blocks among the righteous. While Fools follow Fools the Godly follow God. There is no life among those who reject and despise the Truth and Light.

Peace and Love,

In the name of Jehovah God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth.

In the Book of John we see further examples of the miraculous healing ministry of Jesus. However, here we will confirm the source of His healing power. Jesus reveals that he is the Son of God.

John 5: 19. "Then answered Jesus and said unto thee, verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise."

The line of thought regarding the preceding scripture begins with the 16th verse. The Jewish leaders were in opposition to the Truth and Jesus.  But they as witnessed His healing; they also saw a broken rule. They accused Jesus of working on the Sabbath. Therefore they overlooked the healing miracles performed by Jesus and concentrated on this so-called infraction. Let us now look at verse 17.

John 5: 17. "But Jesus answered them my Father worketh hitherto, and I work."

Jesus replied to their claims by noting His relationship to God as His Father. Even though the Jews claimed respect for God they did not believe that He would violate the Sabbath. Jesus teaches a very important lesson here. He declares that even though God rested on the seventh day, He did not stop doing good. Furthermore Jesus did not leave open the option to believe in God while ignoring Jesus. Meanwhile the Pharisees (Jewish Leaders) rejected Him as the Son of God. Meanwhile they chose to accuse Him of blasphemy.

John 5: 18. "Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the Sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God."

Jesus is the son of the life-giving God. It is only natural that the son share the characteristics of His Father.

John 5: 26. "For as the father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself."

God is the sole Creator. Thus, God is the source or life. As the source and giver of life God control's life here on earth and in the after life.

Also, see: Deuteronomy 30:20 and Psalms 36:9. Choose life, not death. Life is a gift from God.

John 14: 6. Jesus is also life, because Jesus exists eternally with God. Also, see 1 John 5: 11-12. We may live eternally through Christ.

John 5: 27. "And hath given him authority to execute Judgment also, because he is the Son of man."

God willed that His son receive power. This power gave Him the authority to read the divine judgment upon the world. The Old Testament records the signs of the coming Messiah. John records that Jesus has fulfilled all three signs.

The first sign as noted in this passage (verse 5:27) reveals that all power and dominion is given to Him as the Son of man. The Old Testament record for this passage was earlier revealed in Daniel 7: 13-14. The man noted in Daniel is the Messiah. Jesus also referred to these verses in Matthew 26: 64, Luke 21: 27, John 1: 51. The exclusive divine attributes of the son of man are revealed in the clouds that portray His deity. For example God's glory appeared in a cloud in Exodus 16:10 and 19:9 at the giving of the Law at Sinai.

The second sign as noted by John in John 5: 20, 26, this sign reveals the healing of the lame and sick. The Old Testament record is found in Isaiah 35: 6 and Jeremiah 31: 8-9. Finally we see the third sign of the coming Messiah noted by John in John 5: 21, 28. This sign reveals that the dead will be raised to life. The Old Testament record is noted in Deuteronomy 32: 39, 1 Samuel 2: 6 and 2 Kings 5: 7.

Additional related Scripture:

John 9: 39. "And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind."

Acts 10: 42. "And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of the quick and the dead."

Acts 17: 31. "Because he hath appointed a day, in that which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead."

The knowledge and Truth of God is necessary for the healing of the soul and the body. This power rests in the hands of the Creator. Is there still a need for God to give His healing power to man in the flesh? Have the Prophets come and gone? So where are the great Disciples and Apostles? As we bear witness to God and Truth we must abide by the scriptures, there can be no salvation for the lost and wicked.
