Beloved turmoil crossed not his mind as he rested in peace. Never did he wish to see or write of things buried in death and tragedy but death to some that think is life and often tragedy is an awakening to life. There goes the different view. However many disregard the sages as fools. These same blind men disregarded water in a desert with the illusion of an Oasis. (20 July 2009)

I found another place to look

upon the water. A large oak

tree half covered in moss stretched

over the creek, high were the trees.

A large part of the tree’s roots

held fast to the bank nestled

among the rocks. This is where

I found my resting place.

All things here were natural as

no man or woman could have

planted the rocks and trees in

this place.

Here the water made various

sounds as it washed upon the

rocks and flowed downstream

casting slight gentle waves

to each side.

I saw a sweet swift current

further upstream proceeding

endlessly upon the

quickly flowing water.

One tree on the other side

stuck into the side bank

as a pen sticks in a pen

cushion, leaning, looking

out over the creek as a

guardian angel,

I could not help but dream of

the visual artist again and a canvas

to draw and paint upon.

Meanwhile I gazed upon my

surroundings that were so unique.

The great landscaper had been here as

He sculptured the land everywhere.

I will remember this place.

I hope also to remember this time.

So is the mission of the poets.
