CONVERSION AND JUDGMENT THE RIGHTEOUS AND THE UNRIGHTEOUS
(By Carl A. Patton, 26 September 2008)
Editors Note: We bear witness that the ability to look back on the road to conversion is an integral part in the life and times of the righteous. Thus we first see the mood of Repentance for the Black family the human family.† Will the Three Great Religions come as one? Will the Acceptance of Christ bring Him back thus rendering the Confirmed Destiny of all the earth even those that still live? Is it true then, that those that with faith and service to Him that are converted can look beyond? Thus is it a miraculous gift to be able to see the past understand the present and see yourself in the future?
Part 1: Looking Back
Peace be unto you. To the Church and believing Christians everywhere and those that believe in the Bible as the Supreme authority of Godís Laws. For the record and the sign post many people that confess to be Christians are now during these trying times looking to man, materialism and God knows what as additional authorities on how to get to Heaven. Glory be to God our Father and to His Son our Savior Christ Jesus blessed by the Holy Spirit.
These are the days when the righteous come to reflect back on days past. The time of the rebirth the conversion process. When did it begin? I saw a significant experience as a graduate student 1971-1973 at Fisk University when my academic freedoms were first denied. I also saw the sham of Black Studies and the various actors of covert mis-education. However let us go back as I see now I was drawn to Christ from the womb.
The guns had ceased to fire over the European continent
as the Russians had settled with the U.S. and the Germans
had been rendered a great defeat. However the worst to come
among the Japanese had went up in black smoke as the Island
shook with a great noise.
Blacks gained freedom and equal rights eventually in the armed
forces as Black blood was red also as Truman made his mark.
However the east was still not conquered as Korea also posed a
Red threat and the guns soon exploded once more. Jim was Black
Crow as Brown confronted Board of Education of Topeka Kansas,
And the assault on public education began as White flight brought
destruction to already inferior inner city, southern and urban schools.
Meanwhile integration and quality education lost its focus and became
a tactic of the struggle. Now as I matriculated as a public student I
saw things different I never strived to be like any one called Mike.
I thought of me not as a self-serving elitist but surely I must be unique and
was of worth. I also was reared in independence and this I guarded to the death.
Education to Black folk with any sense at all was claimed as the key to survival
and the relief from the general poverty that all Black faces faced as a way of life.
Who knew any better and how could one compare poverty to wealth?
What you knew nothing about was not lost. Many tales were told to continue
to program and condition the mind and mis-educate the soul, body and Spirit.
I became thrilled with History and Social Science in high school leaving Howard
School Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1963. Will there ever be a welcome mat for me
and the likes of me at this place?
Realizing that up from poverty meant learning and thus on to Shorter Jr. College,
North Little Rock, Arkansas. I continued to pursue this intriguing journey
of learning as the Social Sciences were fascinating and I had an unquenchable thirst
for knowledge. I remember in a Bible class I noted that the Bible was a book of
many books and landed in big trouble.
However I only had a vague notion of just what is the Bible. I would soon look very closely.
Tennessee State University after serving in the US Army and living through although detached
another scene of bloodshed called war. Political Science now reached out for me as it also
embraced history and law. Studying to be a legal person was abandoned however when the
Chicago Democratic Convention rendered so much rejection of the constitution and injustice,
too many of my brethren.
Beloved I now considered my options for life. Could I best serve as a lawyer or as a student and teach the Truth of the Black Experience? I chose Black Studies and embarked on a life long journey to reveal many mysteries of our past. Where has this journey taken me? Looking to the future I see a road to salvation for the righteous and a Spiritual journey that looks at the experiences of all of humankind with the Bible as my guide. Noah cried out in righteousness he also had faith. However many looked upon him as a Fool but who really was/is the Fool? Obeying God is not foolish however disobedience will cause you eternal harm.
