In the name of God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. To the Church and believing Christians everywhere and those that believe in the Bible as the Supreme authority of God’s Laws. For the record and the sign post many people that confess to be Christians are now during these trying times looking to man, materialism and God knows what as additional authorities on how to get to Heaven. Glory be to God our Father and to His Son our Savior Christ Jesus blessed by the Holy Spirit.

Brethren many people today run, attempt to hide and denounce Truth based on custom, tradition and what is popular. Thus they refuse to read information (Book, Chapter and Verse) regarding the false teachings in the Church. However this is not a new attitude.

Did the wicked ungodly people of Nineveh set a precedent for repentance? What causes repentant souls to leave the act of repentance and return to Pagan ways? Why were the Jews so distrustful of Jesus? Do people today still want to see a miracle to believe in Christ?

For the record there are some making claims today of miracles. Although they have no power the many foolish follow them as if they are Christ Jesus. Follow us to Matthew where Christ Jesus draws parallels with the trials of Jonah. Here we should be able to answer some of our questions.

Matthew 12: -38-41: “Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.”

“But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign, and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas.”

“For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”

The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn, it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.”

At verse 38 the word sign is used to describe a miracle. Jesus had worked countless miracles during His ministry. But there is no record that shows that Jesus performed any miracles to satisfy the curiosity of naysayers and doubters. The Jews noted in this verse had just witnessed Jesus casting out the devil. Thus they had just seen a miracle.  However they still were not satisfied as to His power. But the Jews were merely exhibiting a distinct characteristic of their race.

Follow us to I Corinthians 1 for a cross reference that speaks to the point just mentioned.

I Corinthians 1: 22: “For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom.”

Although the Jews believed in a higher form of knowledge they were critical of any such knowledge unless accompanied by some direct demonstration for heaven. Meanwhile the Greeks were philosophical thus they were not interested in anything that did not meet the standards of Greek philosophy.

At verse 39 Jesus refers to the things previously expressed about the Jews called here an evil generation. He also refused to perform any miracles at this time. However regarding His resurrection He was willing to stake His reputation as a Prophet.

Just as Jonah had spent three days and three nights within the whale so shall the son of man spend that time in the inner part of the earth. He also must come forth unharmed. This will prove that He is a true Prophet and under the watchful care of Almighty God.

The men of Nineveh were willing to repent due to the preaching of Jonah. So as Christ comes back for the judgment there will be no excuse for the unrepentant. Meanwhile the FreedomJournal shouts loudly for the world to repent as the time of the living and dead draws near. However many are stubborn and have hard hearts that seek men and women and not God and Christ.
